Starting to get more sleep:)

The girls are both taking a nap at the same time right now....it is a miracle:) I found that it is really hard to get them both down for a nap when I am here alone, being that they both want to be rocked to sleep and if I am rocking them both at the same time it is really hard to get up holding both of them and lay them both down. This morning Lucy fell asleep in her swing that she loves ( Thanks Pells) so I was able to get Madeline down in her bassinet:)
Our nightime routine is getting a little better the girls are now sleeping in our bed next to us instead of on our chests all night. And Ethan and I are actually sleeping in the same room:)I am sure glad that Ethan and I have a king size bed to fit all four of us. I think last night Ethan actually got 6 hours straight of sleep and then another 2 1/2 after that, and I slept pretty well too! Hopefully we can transition the girls to sleep in their bassinets or cribs at night soon, but we are taking it one step at a time. The girls are starting to smile a lot now, especially Madeline:) The other day she got the biggest smile when Grandma Bonnie came over, her gums were showing....it was hilarious.
Lucy and Madeline got some pictures taken a couple weeks ago and the link to look at them is www.rebeccabrethauerphotography.blogspot.com She did a really good job, although Lucy was pretty fussy that day.
Hope everyone is having a good week, and enjoying the snow!! I CANT WAIT TILL SPRING!!!
Sorry I dont have any new pics...I am challenged and dont know how to load them from the camera onto the computer, so Ethan said he will do it later.

No time to post

Well. Again it has been awhile since we posted. We have found that we can't really take five minutes to post something without one of the girls getting mad because they weren't getting attention. Things seem pretty tough as their behaivor seems like they are more needy than they were when they were born. Going on walks and taking them in the packs has been fun as they typically relax or sleep when we do that. Kelli has been getting a lot of help and it seems like it is always needed. I feel so bad headin off to work with both of them "needing" to be held. Our morning routine is Kelli lets me get ready and eat breakfast and then I grab them both and she gets ready as fast as she can and trys to put on makeup and eat some breakfast. After that she sits in the chair and I lay both babies on her. It is pretty funny. The girls got one vaccine last Friday as we are spacing them out and not giving them a few of the vaccines based on our research and decisions we made from that. The girls are still growing well. Last Friday Lucy was 11 lbs 4 oz and Madeline was 9 lbs 5 oz. We think Lucy is over 12 lbs now.
Kelli and I got to go on a real date on valentine's day and it was awesome to spend some alone time with my wife. Nana had Madeline and Grandma and Grandpa had Lucy. They have fun and so did we! Kelli and I are trying this weekend to get a better nightime routine and get the girls to sleep in their bassinets or cribs. It is always so tough when we try during the week because I need to sleep for work and Kelli is up all day workin hard with the girls. So hopefully we can make some headway there.

Busy Busy

Sorry it has been so long since our last post, but lets just say I have had my hands full. The girls will be 8 weeks on Saturday, and they are growing like crazy. I took Lucy to the doctors office this last Monday and she weighed in at 10lbs8oz:) So she is growing like crazy. Madeline is a bit smaller and you can definately tell when holding them, my guess would be that Madeline is about 8lbs2oz. They have their 2 month check next Friday, so I will post their weights after the appt.

Lucy has been spitting up a lot and have some tummy problems so the Doctor switched her to a hypoallergenic formula which is pretty expensive...I think Ethan figured it out to be about $3 a bottle, and we are going to start her on some acid reflux medication , so hopefully that will start to help.

Nighttime is still very interesting at our home. Ethan takes one baby and sleeps in one room while I take another and sleep in another, we found that this is the best way for us to both get some sleep since they wake up at different times crying. I think we are just getting used to having about 5 hours of sleep added up for the night:)

Family has been so great in helping us out during the day, and we are so grateful. It is really hard now because the girls are both pretty fussy and always want to be held, and when I am here by myself it is hard to keep them both happy at the same time. So THANK YOU SO MUCH BONNIE, MOM, ERIN, AUNT JULIE, LOU LOU, and everyone else who has been helping out.

Till next time.......
