Hello from Lucy and Madeline:)

We hope everyone had a fun July 4th. We had a busy day with friends and family. Although we didnt get any pictures on our camera......sorry! My mom and dad got a lot on their camera, and I will be sure to post those pictures once I get their camera. We had a fun afternoon hanging out at the Potts farm, and the girls got to meet a lot of their cousins, great aunts and great uncles. After the farm we had a BBQ at our house with my parents, grandparents, uncle Curt, Aunt Katie and Aunt Lou Lou, it was lots of fun. We had oysters, and lots of other good food! The girls are very excited to have their Aunt Katie and Uncle Curt in town, and cant wait to spend more time with them over the next couple of weeks.
Today the girls had swim lessons and Aunt Katie came to help out, it was lots of fun!
Hope everyone has a good week! The girls are getting dedicated at church next weekend, and we also have a big Stephan BBQ, so we will be sure to update with more fun pictures.
The pictures posted are of swim lessons over the last couple weeks, as well as the girls with their new friend Amaya:)

SWIMMING WITH THE GIRLS

The girls have been having lots of fun at the pool with Nana, Lou Lou, Grandma, Mommy and Daddy. We found it a lot easier to have three of us there to get the girls ready when they were finished. Here are some pictures from Nana and Papas a couple weeks ago, and some pictures from the pool. The girls are getting excited to see their Aunt Katie and Uncle Curt who will be here today.

The girls got to meet their new friend Amaya yesterday, she is just two weeks old! They had lots of fun playing with her.

Lucy got her first 2 teeth!! None for Madeline yet, but I am sure she wont be far behind. Sleeping is slowly getting better, but the girls are still waking up at least once a night for a bottle, hopefully in the next couple of months they will start sleeping through the night. We have a busy summer coming up with family BBQ's, weddings and a trip to Whistler, but we will try to update the blog as much has possible. Hope everyone has a Happy July 4th!

Happy Fathers Day!

I hope everyone had a good Fathers Day. Ethan enjoyed his first fathers day with the girls. We went over to Ethans parents for a yummy BBQ with family, and later in the evening after the girls had napped we took them on a walk to Fairhaven park and the girls watched while Ethan and I played a little one on one basketball. I kicked his butt! The girls are both so lucky to have such an amazing Dad, and they cant wait until they can kick his butt in some basketball too! Today the girls started their swimming lessons at the aquatic center, they are not really learning how to swim yet.....just playing and getting used to the water. Auntie Lou Lou came with, and played in the pool too, it was lots of fun! Alyssa and I decided that it would be nice to have a extra hand at the pool for when the swim lessons are over because it was pretty hard to get to crying babies changed, especially when there is no changing tables and we are soaking wet too. We ended up getting them in a onesie, but Lou and I had to leave still in our bathing suits.
The girls had their 6 month check last week, and they are as healthy as can be. Lucy weighed in at 16lbs14.5oz, and Madeline at 14lbs13.5 oz. Lucy was in the 90% for her height, and Madeline in the 60%, so it looks like the girls are both going to be taller then their mommy! They are eating baby food, with their favorite still being carrots! They are both rolling over tons, and I am going to bet that Lucy will be sitting up in a couple weeks:) Madeline still loves to put her toes in her mouth, and they are both starting to be more interested in eachother. They will hold hands and stare at eachother a lot more then they used to.
Again I want to thank all of our friends and family that have been so helpful these past 6 months. I dont know what I would do without all the help, you are all a huge blessing in our lives, and the girls, Ethan and I love you very much.

Enjoying the Sun:)

Hello all! Hope everything is going well and you are all enjoying the sun. We are a little more settled into our new house and enjoying all the space. The girls are still doing well, the sleep thing is good with Madeline and she will maybe get up once in the night and then go right back down, but Lucy is a different story. She likes to wake up and be up for hours at a time and she doesnt like to go back in her crib, she would rather sleep in bed with Mom or Dad. We did the crying to sleep thing and are still working on it, but Lucy will scream somtimes for almost a hour and get so worked up that she spits up all over in her crib. So we are still working out the kinks with Lucy. They have both started baby food and are enjoying carrots and bananas. We bought a pool, and Madeline loves to splash around in it. They are going to start swimming lessons at the end of June, which should be a lot of fun. This last weekend we had our birthing class reunion, and it was lots of fun to see all the babies from the class.

Here are a few pictures of the last couple weeks:)

All moved in!

Well, with lots of help from family and friends the move was successful.....a little stressful but we are all moved in:) The first night in the new house was really hard with the girls, for some reason they were so excited to be in the new house they just wanted to be up all night and only give E and I about 3 hours of sleep total!!! So we were exhausted the next day and still had lots of moving to do but eventually everything got moved in and put together and the girls slept better the next night. The new house is great! We have lots of room, a backyard and a great deck!! With the weather being so nice we have been going on lots of walks into fairhaven. We walked into Fairhaven on Sunday for the ski to sea race and lets just say we will not be doing that again with a double stroller!! There was so many people and it was pretty hard to manuver the stroller around everyone.

The girls are getting so big, and are beginning to really get their own personalitys. Lucy is close to 16.5lbs and we think Madeline is about 15 lbs . They are both smiling a lot and starting to giggle. Nana bought them a jolly jumper and they have been having lot of fun in that. They have been eating rice cereal for the past couple of weeks, which they both love and this last week I introduced them to sweet potatoes which they are not so fond of. Madeline loves to put her legs in the air and try to grab her toes...she is very flexible:) Right now we are still working on the sleep thing. Madeline goes down great, but Lucy rolls over a lot and each time she rolls over she wakes up and cries. We just moved Lucy into her own room because we are going to try the cry to sleep thing and see how that goes.

We hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the sun we have been having!
